Something to provoke our thoughts..
NEED WASHING??
A little girl had been shopping with her Mom in Target. She must have been 6 years old, this
beautiful red haired, freckle faced image of innocence.. It was pouring outside. The kind of rain
that gushes over the top of rain gutters, so much in a hurry to hit the earth it has no time to flow
down the spout. We all stood there under the awning and just inside the door of the Target.
We waited, some patiently, others irritated because nature messed up their hurried day. I am always
mesmerized by rainfall. I got lost in the sound and sight of the heavens washing away the dirt and
dust of the world. Memories of running, splashing so carefree as a child came pouring in as a
welcome reprieve from the worries of my day.
The little voice was so sweet as it broke the hypnotic trance we were all caught in ‘Mom let’s run
through the rain,’
she said.
‘What?’ Mom asked.
‘Let’s run through the rain!’ She repeated
‘No, honey. We’ll wait until it slows down a bit,’ Mom replied.
This young child waited about another minute and repeated: ‘Mom, let’s run through the rain,’
‘We’ll get soaked if we do,’ Mom said…
‘No, we won’t, Mom.. That’s not what you said this morning,’ the young girl said as she tugged at
her Mom’s arm.
This morning? When did I say we could run through the rain and not get wet?
‘Don’t you remember? When you were talking to Daddy about his cancer, you said, ‘If God can get us
through this, he can get us through anything!’
The entire crowd stopped dead silent. I swear you couldn’t hear anything but the rain….. We all
stood silently. No one came or left in the next few minutes.
Mom paused and thought for a moment about what she would say. Now some would laugh it off and scold
her for being silly. Some might even ignore
what was said. But this was a moment of affirmation in a young child’s life. A time when innocent
trust can be nurtured so that it will bloom into faith.
‘Honey, you are absolutely right. Let’s run through the rain. If GOD lets us get wet, well maybe we
just needed washing,’ Mom said.
Then off they ran. We all stood watching, smiling and laughing as they darted past the cars and yes,
through the puddles. They held their shopping bags over their heads just in case. They got soaked.
But they were followed by a few who screamed and laughed like children all the way to their cars.
And yes, I did. I ran. I got wet. I needed washing.
Circumstances or people can take away your material possessions, they can take away your money, and
they can take away your health. But no one can ever take away your precious memories…So, don’t
forget to make time and take the opportunities to make memories everyday. To everything there is a
season and a time to every purpose under heaven.
I HOPE YOU STILL TAKE THE TIME TO RUN THROUGH THE RAIN.
They say it takes a minute to find a special person, an hour to appreciate them, a day to love them,
but then an entire life to forget them. Send this to the people you’ll never forget and remember to
also send it to the person who sent it to you. It’s a short message to let them know that you’ll
never forget them..
If you don’t send it to anyone, it means you’re in a hurry.
Take the time to live!!!
Keep in touch with your friends, you never know when you’ll need each other — and don’t forget to
run in the rain!
Hearing my heart whisper..
Close my eyes, my thoughts,
From the rest of the world,
Envisioning, my heart’s eye,
My destination, nearer and nearer.
So vivid, so far away,
Getting nearer and nearer,
A touching distance, just out of reach,
My heart’s desire.
Opened my eyes,
The image still there,
Burned in my heart, my soul,
Clear as crystal.
Tiger bites the dust?
No matter how long you build your name, how hard you train, how strong your desire to succeed.. Something always comes along and jeopardize everything.
Is there anyone who did not know Tiger Woods? He is the embodiment of a true athlete, one of the most successful the world has ever seen. Golf courses have to be redesigned to cope with his game. He shows that flair ‘and’ strength can go hand in hand.
But if there is anything that can bring him down, this is it. You can rise up having a strong woman behind you, and obviously, fall a long way down by having the wrong type of woman in your shadow.
Hiding an affair that has been going on for 31 months took a lot of skill and know how too, so it seems Tiger really does roar, but obviously that is one thing men like us would rather not learn from him.
Hopefully he will climb back out of this predicament. He is Tiger. We cannot judge him based on this life mistake that he has made. He had done a lot of good that this single bad should not stop him from doing what he does best. Winning. But he is human. He is not perfect. Just apologize, clean up and get on with your extraordinary life. Nothing wrong at all being human. Especially when your name is Tiger.
Another day in ‘paradise’
Woke up in the morning feeling a bit down. Got a flu again. I realized a long time ago that I am not getting any younger, and that I need to find the extra resolve to push myself even harder. Spent the day reading, looking up my contact list and sending some emails. Then, I prepared to write.
I froze for a moment, and think.. What should I write about? Making that decision seems the hardest thing to do this past week or so. So I think a bit more, and came to a decision. My appointment with a prospect will be in a few hours time, so I have some time to write. So here goes!
“A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step” – Chinese proverb
Hello world!
Hello Azmil.. oh.. and the rest of the world of course.
Its not unusual to be talking to oneself. I’ve read somewhere that about 85% of someone’s daily communication is self talk. I mean.. Think about it. We urge ourselves to get up in the morning. We tell ourselves to hurry or we will be late for work. We urge ourselves to do our best in our chosen field everyday.
And people think the only people that talks to himself or herself is crazy…
So it takes some serious self talk on my part to start blogging again. Been trying to decide what kind of topic i should concentrate on, but i think if i took to much time deciding, then nothing will get done eventually. So I just decide to start doing, and go with the flow of things.
Writing has always been my passion, but I have always hidden it within the deepest confines of my heart. I want to break out from that. I want to get out of my comfort zone and at last, do what i want to do and seek my own destiny.
I will have to take 100% responsibility of my life onto myself, as no other will.
Well.. I think it’s a nice start eh?
